Help is Available with Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation 

Pelvic floor physical therapy (PFPT) can help men, women, and children alike. PFPT works on the muscles and connective tissues in order to treat pain and disorders within the muscles of the pelvis also known as the pelvic floor. Physical therapy will introduce you to exercises which will help relax or strengthen muscles as needed. These exercises help alleviate the annoying, uncomfortable, or even painful feelings caused by pelvic floor dysfunction.

Patients may benefit from physical therapy if they are experiencing:

• Accidental leakage of urine when laughing, coughing or sneezing

• The need to urinate frequently or suddenly and an uncontrollable urge to urinate

• Bladder disorders

• Irritable bowel syndrome

• Feeling of fullness/abdominal pain, pressure, discomfort and bloating

• Pelvic pain/dysfunction
